Heard the egg song toys from the same chicken

You have some colorful layers in your flock. Our EEs are my granddaughter's (pictured in my avatar) favorites. She loves their different colored eggs. I personally love the look of the chocolate eggs of the Black Copper Marans. Good luck with your flock.

i have never heard of the egg song before this now i wonder if i have eggs hidden all over the yard , i hear my gals getting vocal from time to time but i thought they were just fussing about something , last time i heard them "singing" was when i was in the new house that i am making next to their enclosure so i thought they were just fussing now maybe i have to hunt for eggs. input anyone?

The egg song sounds something like this...Ahem....."bawk bawk bawk BaGAWK bawk bawk bawk BaGAWK bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk BaGAWK...." Lasts for about 5 mins after an egg is laid. Very loud too. LOL

my what a good voice you have , i did a youtube search and played some egg songs and it sounds close or maybe im just being anxious , either way i think i will check around the yard ( yea i let them have the whole back yard they like following their dog around) in the spots i leave the grass high for them and some of the bushes they like to hang out in since there is nothing in their coop wish me luck

I've trained my chicks to use the nesting box I've put golf balls in them.
Some still don't but that's ok there geting use to it

I've only heard one of my 4 laying hens sing the egg song (I have 6 chickens, 2 EE do not lay yet). Three do not sing it. It is weird though, one of my EE that is not laying yet sang the egg song, but she hadn't laid an egg, and neither did anybody else. I wonder if they will sing the egg song if they are just happy? I had locked up the coop bully the day she sang it and i'm wondering if she was just full of joy,
