Thank you so,so much.I'm surprised anyone could read my New post as by reading it back I could tell where the tears had blurred my writing and where the pain hit, yes there is a gaping great hole in my heart, I took a chance in telling not knowing if I came across as a demented shacking blamonge! so thanks for understanding and for teaching me a few things I didn't know.
So as you don't think I'm totaly bonkers, the hot water bottles and the things that heat up in the microwave was put in after I cleaned out and put new stuff in, so while they were telling me stories and we played the games they picked up on quickly their house was warming, I never left any of the items in the house I took out at the last moment when I had to lock them back up, their little chats to each other as they climbed the ramp to carefully look in told me they were happy bunnies, (chickens). So thank you for letting me tell of my mental state.
The second item is bless you all for caring....... that should be the first thing I said really, xxx
I have to continue here as some strange things are happenning with computor unless there is a time scale, I can't rememberwhat I wrote on the thread before and concerned of loosing this work I won't start investigatin now. The game I taught them was ready steadfy go, the emphasis being on go as they soon picked up....there was lots of cheating at first but then whoopie perfection and the winner was the first to a handful of expensive mealworms (dried) which I must tell you a very funny but embarrasing story about me, dried meal worms and a very important large hospital in London.
It is not possible to keep an eye on their welfare without them seeing me and I would be wanting there unconditional love either side of me whilst grey squirrels (five) would also be in on the fairy story...Hazelnuts are not cheap either but hey ho who cares.....Thank you all so much for the warm welcome and interesting advice....If I keep a low profile does anyone know how long before they will forget me? and does anyone know if raisons and sultannas give them a runny motion? I really srubbed their house out incase it was something the other could pick up.
I still fill empty, kind of beareved...I have plenty to do but it takes me at least four hours before I can start walking without pain in the mornings and my arm is in plaster from fingers to elbow a result of the wrong medication and hitting quarry tiles falling asleep standing up, no flowers please or get well cards!! just ideas of getting through this enormous loss ...it was good to hear they would soon forget me, but how soon...again thank you for listening you really are a kind bunch and supportive love from Gugi xx I will post some pics soon and do a signature but I am new to this but jolly glad you are here...thanks a million. xx
I'd leave them to your neighbor and focus on getting your own birds. Your neighbors birds are older and if you got chicks they would bond to you better and you could teach them more things sooner. A chicken is pretty simple and just really enjoys being fed. As long as your neighbor brings them food they are still having happy times together. I'm sure they liked your visits but they know who raised them and they like the comfort of their Daddy even if he is weird nd crabby. You just got to be the fun baby sitter for a while. I forgot most of mine as a kid! They will move on too! Start getting ready a place for your new chickens and study how to care for a chick. You will stop spending money on those silly squirrels to buy toys for your chickens!
did he say you can't play witht them bc you gave them straw??? thats horrible! you were just trying to help out. and can't you still see them from where you are? and you should get some chicks and raise e them! its quite an amazing experience!
I'd say get a few of your own chickens. You will love it. If you cannot do that, can you just swallow your pride, apologize to your neighbor, outright say you are sorry for interferring with the way he raises his chickens but ask if you can still help out and play with them as long as you don't do such and such again?
You definatly need chickens! Most chickens roost, so more bedding wouldn't make too much difference at night. A draft free, yet well ventilated coop is the most important thing.
