Heartbroken need advice, please!(long post,sorry)

Quote:
i only suggested that as she had stated that the woman/thief had attacked them (or tried to) previously. i am not saying to threaten or scare anyone, merely for protection.

Hope you find a way to rescue them (sounds like all their animals need rescuing!!!!). What your DH said - I understand - we all say things to emphatically make a point without meaning we would actually do the thing we threaten - I hear you on that and have done it myself (you should hear me when a a55 cuts me off on the road! what I say and what I would really do are not the same). Have a chat with the animal welfare/rescue groups in your region - maybe they can deal with this so you don't have to. I'm sorry you are going through this and that you have such dreadful humans as "neighbors".

Wait until you see them both leave the house and go over there and get them out.....

It's not stealing and they are your property.

They have stolen livestock and that is a criminal offense in most states. Call the State Patrol too. They may do something since it is livestock. Try looking up your State's criminal codes to see if the crime is a midemeanor or felony...

Call them to see if they will come out to "keep the peace" while you retrieve your property or there may be violence involved. Keep bugging the crud out of those lazy county people.

Just keep calling.

This really pi55ed me off! I looked up some laws in your state and the county officers are breaking the law.

See this:

If any person unlawfully takes up or conceals an estray, or fails to comply with the provisions of this act, such person so offending shall be guilty of the felony of larceny of domestic animals and shall be punished according to the provisions of Section 1716 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

Call the County and tell them this is quote is from the code 4-85.2 regarding estrays. You notified your neighbor those were your birds, they officer knew they were your birds and did nothing. The law states you are supposed to pay your neighbor for keeping them, but since you found your birdies within a few hours and they refused to give them back I would say you owe them nothing. The sheriff did not following the law on his part either. He is supposed to notify you where you birds are so you can retrieve them, yet he would not let you get your livestock, so I guess he is guilty of a felony too.

If they still do nothing call the State Patrol. Call your Mayor.

That is the worst thing I've ever heard of!! How can somebody say "oh, well, I know these are your birds but I like them too much so you can't have them back." I hope you can get them back, good idea on the female guinea!!

I can't stop crying. I have been sitting out on my porch listening to Michael and Sonny down there screaming! She has all of her boys outside keeping watch. Every time Michael and Sonny get near the fence they run them back.

I can hear them banging and sawing on something. Hopefully they are stupid enough to try to completely contain them. Because then one of two things will happen, either a. when they try to catch them they will remember they can fly or b. they will put them in the pen and I can press charges. I was told that if they contain them in something with a cover then and only then I have a case.

My mom called and wanted to know if there was any where I could buy an adult guinea hen today. But I can't find any. My babies are to little to make much noise.

Just please say some prayers and keep your fingers crossed that they screw up.

Don't get discouraged. The good should prevail over the evil doers. Just remember that. Somehow, you will get your birds back. Just believe that. I seriously have never heard of something this ridiculous before, who just says oh I like them, think I'll keep 'em, I know they belong to you, but they are in my pen, so now they are ours. ARE THEY ON CRACK? I GUESS SO. Maybe the worthless cops could bust them for that too.
