HEARTBROKEN

Something from the vet Metacam is usually what they prescribe .  I am sure she is experiencing pain but hopefully it is better each day as she is healing.

I will call in the morning. I don't have that. She is somewhat snappy...Even to me... Which is totally understandable! But I can just tell she's irritated... & I'm assuming that's coming from some pain & the fact she can't get around. However this morning she took like 5 steps with the help of her wings & she's standing for 7-10ish seconds at a time! We're moving in all the right directions!

Ducks are very strong and often recover from awful injuries.

I agree with Miss Lydia, check with the vet. Metacam and Rimadyl are often prescribed. I am not a vet - I believe these are anti-inflammatories and used for helping with pain.

@flossyfelix ask the vet too what they think of her having a nice warm bath. It may not be a good idea but then it again it may help her feel better.

I was wondering the same thing. Idk about her being submerged, but I did kind of rinse her off yesterday. Also, a cold front blew on last night, it's rainy, the wind is blowing pretty good, & the temp dropped to 50s- it's been 75-80ish.....Anyway...The whole her not having feathers on over have of her back/butt...Is she cold?? I've got a sheet over her pin & some boards blocking as much as the wind as possible...But I don't want her to be cold on top of everything else. @Miss Lydia

Is there a spot you can bring them into for a couple of days? Without feathers I would be concerned about her staying warm enough, especially since she must use energy to heal.

I would also be putting vitamins in their water at night twice a week.

I agree I thought you were keeping her inside and had only brought her out for vists with Felix.

I wouldn't put her in warm water even if you can't keep her warm.

I'm actually staying with my grandmother, some work is being done to our house. If we were home she would definitely be inside... But being we're here under the carport is about the best I can do right now. However it has warmed up some & I have a sheet & a tarp over her cage blocking wind. I also put a towel over her, but that doesn't last long! Lol! She is doing better daily!

Great news to hear she is doing better daily!!They are amazing.

So. The temperature is suppose to drop again tonight. I got a small heater & put it on extra low... she moved to infront of it... my poor girl was cold. But this should work. There's an opening so the air can flow & she won't be too hot either.
