I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss...it was so senseless...........but your new chicks are sooooo cute! Glad you got to keep a part of your lovely rooster! ~Beulah

Sorry for your loss.. .last year we had 3 dogs kill 17 of our chickens and 4 ducks... we were gone to the store for less than an hour...they had dug a hole under the back fence which we didnt detect until afterwards.... our security cameras recorded the carnage...needless to say ... i killed the 3 dogs the next morning with my trusty AR-15 when they came back... I know what neighbors these dogs belong to but they declined ownership of the animals....so I couldn't get compensated.... our 2 dogs that grew up with the chickens and never been a threat to them..on the video you could see our dogs trying to get into the chicken yard to protect the chickens but they didn't know where the hole was .... but anyway a message was sent out... if any dogs come in the chicken yard or threaten my poultry...they will be killed.... haven't had any issues since then.

I hate irresponsible pet owners, especially dog owners. We keep both our dogs in a big fenced in area when they are outside, but I have had problems with our neighbors dogs. Luckily they don't venture onto our property with our dogs around so we haven't had to worry about them and the chickens. Control your dogs people!

Thnk you for the comments guys. Aand no the neighbourghs never came over infact if they disliked me before they hate me now, the dirty looks have mutiplied. UGH! Ignorent people.

Im in Georgia too, up in the NW section. A couple years ago one of my neighbors dogs got out of it's pen and came to my farm and killed 18 of my chickens. Didn't eat or tear up any but killed them nevertheless. I killed this dog. Shot it three times. First bullet killed it, the other two was because I was ******. My neighbor trains bird dogs. These dogs come from all over. The dog I killed had a collar on it with the name of owner, location of owner (Montgomery Alabama) and the owners telephone number. Naturally first of all I called the local police, the animal control and my neighbor.....after I called the owner of the dog. Turns out this dog was an expensive animal...well its a dead dog now no matter the value. The police wanted to know if my gun was secured before they sent out an officer. The animal control didn't come out since the dog was dead. My neighbor came over, collected the dogs body and gave me a check for the loss of my chickens. No questions other than how much per chicken. Now I understand tha the dog was only doing what it was trained to do, but my neighbor failed to keep it caged properly. Animal control told me they have had several complaints from folks about the conditions of the kennels. I have had no further incidents or dogs around but I always am on the watch.

wow, how awful! My neighbors dogs STILL are not locked up and left unsupervised even after being talked to by AC so I guess I am going to have to call them again
