Heat lamp removal at 8 weeks

I don't see anything dramatically wrong with them in your pic. They don't have the look of Coccidiosis and I thought the "wet look" you describe could be poo on them but I don't see that either.... They look younger than 8 weeks maybe?? They're so cute! I assume they're in the corner because your phone scared them and not to get away from heat?? BUT it'd be really good to know what kind of temps that 250 watter is putting in there. I would urge you to ditch it altogether and if you have to provide light or heat (I don't know where your setup is or what the ambient room temp is,) downgrade to a 70watt bulb or anything you have that is way less heat. You said that one of the chicks that died hung out by himself in the corner and to me that means to get away from the heat. But again it'd be really good to know more about your setup. Inside? Outside? Temps where you are? Hang in there! They will be very pretty hens one day!! :love

Im pretty sure they are 8 weeks old.. they were 2 days old when i bought them march 6th. They are also batnam chicks i believe they are a smaller breed chicken? And The one chick i had who hung out in the corner was always laying directly under the heat lamp he preferred being in constant heat but i will definitely figure out how hot that 250 watt bulb puts out and it is a clear bulb also so its bright maybe lowering to a 70 watt and a red bulb would help them wean off?

They eat cracked corn feed. And their brooder is in a little shed so the temperature in there would be the temperature it is outside because it is not insulated thats why i haven't really taken their heat completely from them.
Is all you’re feeding them cracked corn? That’s basically candy for chickens and has 0 nutrients especially for developing chicks. The should have constant access to a chick started or a flock raider feed. I would immediately stop feeding the corn a start a real feed.

Nothing but corn?

Their issues aren't heat-related, they're malnourished!

OH wow for sure! Can you get some chick feed asap? Cracked corn is going to be causing all sorts of issues. Do they have chick grit? Even if they do, you really do have to get them off cracked corn. Even adult birds can't live on just cracked corn, and especially not little's... Well I'm super glad that you're putting more info. in here, it really helps! Thanks!

Oh boy. Do you not have proper feed available in your area?
