Heated waterer

Yeah I just read that on mine too. Maybe I’ll trade it in for a heated dog bowl or a heated nipple waterer for inside. I don’t think that allows as much water condensation.🤔
Horizontal nipple waterers are great, but takes time to 'train' the birds.
Best not to switch during extreme temps.

Thanks, I was worried about that too. I’m from New Hampshire. Also kinda new to this group and didn’t finish my profile. Thanks for the reminder.
 
I use a heated base in my coops. I’ve only been through one winter and that was with guineas not chickens. We had temps as low as -40 windchill made it even colder. We didn’t have any frostbite last year. I can’t imagine not having water in my coops. When the dead of winter sets in the birds rarely left the coop.
