Have over 20 eggs needing to get set and my Hovabator died! Gonna try the heating pad vs 15 watt light bulb. Anyone want to share their success or failure with this process?

I don’t have that experience but someone will be along shortly.

Welcome to BYC!were glad to have you here and answer any questions you may have!:) I have tried with a light before but did not have any success.good luck to you it is definitely worth a shot.id say a big thing is trying to get the humidity right. I used a spray bottle but might have not done it enough that was also when I was first starting out with chickens.if say if there is a way you can make or buy a small incubator there worth it!

You can make an incubator for like less than $20 , styrofoam ice chest, extension cord, light bulb and plug socket. Mine is slightly more elaborate than that but hatched my ducks just fine.
I believe most heating pads get too hot.
