Squirrels and other rodents will chew through vinyl siding. Ask me how I know....I’m going to run 1x4 boards along the bottom once I have my 6’ backyard fence up and fill it with dirt until level. I’ll get some vinyl siding scraps and affix them to the rest of the space around the door. Should work to keep the rodents out.
Ok… I’m going back to the automated machine guns idea then…or maybe a mote filled with sharks with laser beams attached to their heads.Squirrels and other rodents will chew through vinyl siding. Ask me how I know....
Lice. And if it's the red ones, they eat wires. I get the 20-gauge out when we get too many of those.Ok… I’m going back to the automated machine guns idea then…or maybe a mote filled with sharks with laser beams attached to their heads.
On a separate note… are squirrels in themselves harmful to the coop in any way?
Good thinking! So my daughter came over and helped me catch the two outliers. She locked me in the pen and we opened the hole where the first one, princess penelope, escaped when I was flying solo. Then I had her position the fish net right over the hole. We did it at night so the black nylon net was virtually invisible. I chased her around the old coop till she darted out the hole again, right into the net. Easy transfer. That left Plucky on top of the coop. I stood under her and cut the chicken wire till she fell in. Rinse and repeat.
Squirrels like to eat chicken food. Depending on how much they eat, it can make a noticeable difference in how much you have to buy.On a separate note… are squirrels in themselves harmful to the coop in any way?
