So I have this silkie he is almost a year old today all of a sudden he was sitting in the corner not moving I immediately thought dehydration so I gave him a huge bowl of water and left him alone now about four hours later he is even worse he isn't moving and doesn't seem to be aware of anything around him I gave him some electrolytes and water and had to make him drink wat could be wrong with my baby

Was it hot out today? Is there shade? Could he have been injured? Have you added a new chicken or moved him to new ground where he could be exposed to a new coccidiosis strain that he has not become immune to? Corid (amprollium) is used to treat cocci. For hot weather I place flat rubber pans of water around the yard so they can walk in them to cool off and get plenty to drink. The electrolytes should do him good. Check his crop for impaction, feel his keel or breast bone to see if he has lost weight, and look over his skin especially around the vent for lice and mites or eggs. Lastly, when he improves, think about worming him. Safeguard liquid and Valbazen are very good. I hope he starts to respond soon.

He was attacked by my dog three weeks ago and recovers quickly it was warm out today but the reason I think he is dehydrated is because my dumb duck emptied there water and two days ago I purchased three new silkie chicks but if they were sick I would think it would have effected some of the other chicks that I have first

He probably is dehydrated. I would carefully dropper feed him water 1/2 ml at a time so as not to cause aspriration (choking.) When I water in warm weather, I just put pans everywhere and fill them up. Some people use baby pools also. If the silkie chicks are old enough to be on the ground, they could have brought in coccidosis. It doesn't hurt to treat with Corid for it even if that is not the case, but it can be a lifesaver.

I dropped some water into him about an hour ago and when I just when to check his vent I flipped him over and he picked a lot of it back out so idk if he aspirated it and me tipping him made it come out or if he just pucked I'm so nervous he is one of my children

Hey could be getting neglected and can't eat bc the other chickens won't let him eat
