Hi! I'm a new chicken "herder" and a recent transplant from California. Currently I ten EE'ers , a few Cornish crosses, a few pan fryers (awful name!) and some RI chicks. Plus some guineas. Whew! These birds must be sneaking steroids at night, I'm getting 3 dozen eggs a week (that's including guinea eggs). My lovely hubby built the coop so it could be dragged around our field so less mucking it out and it's huge (it also double as a deer stand). My son is autistic and it's therapeutic for him to help me. And my colicky 3 month old daughter calms down when we sit by the coop and listen to birds.
