Hi I'm new to the community.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Not really new to chickens but we are newish. We've had chickens for about 3 years now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
35 and ordered another 20 to come after the first of the year.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Ameraucana, Australorp, Leghorn, Marans, Brahma, Barred Rock, New Hampshire, Jersey Giants and I think that's it.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love how curious and smart they are. I didn't know they were so loving when we got started in chickens so that was a neat surprise.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Baking and crafting. Whatever keeps my hands busy so I don't eat my feelings. haha
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I've been married to my husband for over 25 years, we have one son who is almost 19. We also have two super clingy dogs, a Bernese Mountain dog and Corgi.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found BYC while googling about new automatic chicken doors. My husband is building a bigger coop and we are looking to see if there is anything better than what we have. We currently have a Run Chicken door and really like it.
