Let me begin by saying I am completely new to having ducks as pets. About three weeks ago for my birthday I was gifted three ducklings. I had always joked about having my very own “duck army”, well here was the beginning. I have three different breeds; Pekin, Rouen, and a Khaki Campbell. Right now they’re living in the basement while their duck house is under construction. Ever since acquiring these ducks that’s been my free time, reading books and internet blogs (like this one) to ensure they’re taken care of properly.

My youngest also enjoys playing and loving on the ducks. She even named the Pekin Dwight. Our golden doodle wants the ducklings to be her new best friends. I’m hoping she’ll help protect them once they’re outside.

G'Day from down under Lincoln109 :frowWelcome and Congratulations! :clap

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. There are some down the bottom of the page which are duck specific.

Cuteness overload! :love If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of your ducklings or your fur baby, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
