Hey! So far this seems to be a really cool thread but I have a question. Sorry if this has been asked before but if you cross a BBR with another BBR will you get a BBR? And likewise for self blues, blues, and blacks? The reason being is that someone with these varieties gave me an OEGB egg to hatch out and I'm just wondering if I will get a pure color. I don't care about show quality I just want to know. Thanks!

BB reds,Self Blues,and true blacks,will all breed true.Blue however does not.You will hatch Blue,Black and Splash from a blue/blue mating. Sometimes on the other colors you have a slight chance of having an off color pop out.Blacks are the main 'off' color of some non true breeding colors such as blue and chocolate. So you might by chance end up with a bird who has a "colored" past (parents) and the color pops up later on. Some of the Opals,for example, came from black birds.​

I just crossed a BB red pullet with a great tail to my Crele roo and got very lucky. To pretty female chicks. They will be crele in color. I couldn't find a good crele hen so I made my own.

Enjoyed looking at all the great pics on the last few pages. Nice birds.

It's day 16(counted wrong earlier) and if what you guys said is correct then I'm hoping for a splash pullet!

Oh, and once the chicks hatch is it okay for the broody to eat the chick feed?

I already posted in the wanted section but thought I might get more hits here. I'm looking for Mille fleur and/or blue Mille fleur, blue spangled and chocolate OEGB hatching eggs. Anyone that has any for sale please post or PM me with price and shipping. Thanks! Also please let me know if you are NPIP or not. I would prefer that but if I can't get any that way I'll settle for any, especially in the chocolates.

Blue spangles are a very rare variety, wish you lucking finding some eggs....ideal hatchery has chocolates, milles and blue mille fleurs in day old chicks....probably your best bet
