Lets see if you all can help me out! These guys were about a week old when we got them a month ago. I am having a hard time figuring out if they are oegb or something else? Im also not sure if they are bb reds since i have no idea what a bbred chick looks like so color opinions would be great too.

2nd roo-he has white tips on some of his feathers.

pullet-shes a little shy, also she does seem to have bbred coloring

Okay, so I went out to the chicken pen this morning and found my BO hen with four little chicks!

One of them is an OEGB chick that's yellow with a brown stripe down it's back. That means it's a BBR right? I've heard that you can tell the gender by it's coloring. Is it true? How can you? I'm just so excited that they all hatched!

Yes you can,but not at that age on the BB's..wait a few weeks..​

On Bb red, Silver Duckwing and generally the duckwing varieties they are sexable at hatch. One sex I beleive the pullet will have a stripe that surrounds the eye, the other sex the cockrell I believe will have no eye stripe.
