Okay, folks. Here goes. I got some pics of my OE. These were May '11 hatch. They came from my sister. I got ONE rooster and 6 pullets. Not sure how I got that lucky. Anyway, I would like some opinions and information. I've never had OE before, and I claim ignorance. I welcome as much feedback as I can get.

First, here is the roo I got. BB red, am I corrrect? Keep in mind I am a terrible photographer, and most of them were walking around this little cage wondering what the heck I was doing!

Next, here are some of the pullets I got. I think I have 2 BBred, 2 brown reds and 2 blue red maybe?

Brown red? Is that the color of the cockerell or the pullet you describe. I only have two brown red pullets. Wish I had a cockerell, but I only have the BBred cockerell.

So the two lighter colored pullets are actually two different varieties? Ginger red and brown red? Now what do I do with them? I don't have cockerells in either of those varieties.

In the second pic, the pullet behind the BBred pullet...with the darker legs... Is that a brown red pullet?

Thank you, I am quite fond of him. It is mainly due to him that I have moved out my blue brassys and almost everything else so I can work on my spangles. He is darker than the pictures show, with very even mottling. I am going to put him over my best 2 or 3 hens, and then take those offspring and put him back over his own daughters.

I see BB red cockrell, two BB red Pullets, 2 Blue Red Pullets, and 2 Ginger Red Pullets.

Your BB Red Pullets, and Blue red Pullets can all go in with your BB red cockrell.

You will want to get a Ginger Red cockrell for your gingers.

Oh, absolutely, that does help because what "I" thought was brown red pullets you are saying are ginger red pullets. I recall my sis saying now that I "could" have some ginger red in those chicks. Thanks for clearing that up! I think I've got it now!

Do you think there would be a chance of picking up a ginger red cockerell at the Sedalia, MO show?
Also, what do you think of their type? I know the pictures are not good and they are wandering around looking goofy, but you know how it is... you always hope they have "some" quality to them!
