No no the behavior is very quick and thrust like pecking the air obsessively like she is catching imaginary flies there is nothing there but it looks like she is seeing things and trying to catch things all over the room in corners and such!

Oh, ok! You know I have seen this in an old hen of mine do this. I thought maybe it was neurological or something being so ancient. It never caused her any trouble. But if your girl seems stressed, you might post in our Emergency section.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! That is an odd behavior indeed! I've never seen it in one of mine. I'm interested to hear all the suggestions and advice you get. I sure hope she is okay.

She may be trying to "build a nest" but you don't have sticks and leaves and such in the house for her to throw around. I see my girls picking things up and throwing them behind them before and after laying. Interested to see this video though! And pics are always appreciated
