Hello Everyone!

Hi guys!

I'm a first time backyard chicken momma with 3 young chicks ♡ Currently situated in Gainesville, FL on a small "house-stead" that wishes to be a homestead despite the neighborhood vibes 😂 I have always wanted to raise chickens, now with the start of my compost and getting my raised bed ready, I figure there's no better time 😊 Hoping to have lots of eggs and of course chicken manure 😅

Welcome to BackYardChickens! So glad to have you here in our wonderful community of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people!

Happy Friday!

The "ladies" are about 3 weeks 🥰

Been worrying lately about some possible roosters in the future 😅 Alma is feathering in slower than the other two. I believe she is from a different batch altogether (or even possibly a barred plymouth? I know olive eggers can come barred too) and keep telling myself she's a late bloomer. The Rural King I got them from uses Privett Hatcheries and the Olive Eggers they sell are a mix of Copper Marans and Ameracauna. *sigh* Only time will tell!
