I agree hence the reason I asked for advise on what to avoid and what tips they would have done earlier to improve the flock thx
 
Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! There are a number of good threads on this if you want to do a search. The big three seem to be space, you will probably want more chickens than you planned and chickens are happier with more space so build bigger. Predator protection, be aware of what potential predators you have in your area and build/protect accordingly, no chicken wire is a biggie, it keeps chickens in, but is about worthless for keeping thing out. And three, be careful bringing in new/sick birds, there are contagious diseases that chickens can have that are not really curable, so if you bring in new birds quarantine, and don't let the idea of "rescuing" birds put your own at risk.
