Hello, im brand new to chickens and any other kind of fowl I've been around them but never owned any. I now have a peachick. It is 2 weeks+ old -- hatched around June 9th. His mama rejected him (or her) -- ling story-- I offered to rescue from a friend siblings all died in hail storm. So I only have 1 chick.
I have no clue what the breed is. The chick was yellow and all siblings were Brown. Maybe why rejected?
From searching I came across this site lots of great info.
I'm learning lots everyday. I also have friend that I got the chick from to help out with questions, etc.
I'm in love with this little cutie!
I have tons of hobbies, reading, knitting, sewing, art -- and now I'm adding thus new one!
I've always wanted to live in the country and on a farm. Now I have a sweet little country property almost in the city. I've been wanting animals and this is my start.
I have 2 kids -- the youngest heading to college in the fall, 2 dogs -- plus I watch many dogs regularly! I would love to have a couple sheep and more chickens and other fowl! Oh, and I've been married for 26 years!

Welcome to BYC, Suzy! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

I'm glad you've given the peachick a nice home. There are many peafowl keepers here on BYC that I'm sure you'd enjoy connecting with. :)

Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Welcome to the flock!
