I have. We received our order on Tuesday, red stars and whiting true blues. Plus I have the Rainbow special coming from Cackle in May.

Red Stars (Red Sex Links) are one of the recommended breeds (technically a hybrid not a breed) on Alaska Backyard Chicken's list and they are laying machines. You should get loads of large brown eggs from those girls. )

One of the red stars died last night. She was extra sleepy and it didn't occur to me to bring her in. Another one is not doing well, she is not moving around at all. I brought her in and fed her, some quik chick/sugar water with a dropper. She's pretty peepy but she did swallow it. She's in an ice cream bucket on top of a heating pad. Wondering if I should try making a mash or just go with the quik chick water? Any suggestions?

She is suffering the effects of being chilled. The likelihood of her recovery is not good but some warm mash (very watery) might help. I hope she does recover.

I'm sorry to hear that but not surprised. It's hard to save a chick once they've become chilled. (
