Hi everyone, hope it's a great day for you all! Here's a little introduction. We adopted a hen from a neighbor a few months ago, and she had a hatch out in the grass, we caught her and all 9 chicks and put them in a coop to protect them from cats and mongeese, one disappeared early but the other 8 survived and were healthy and happy. That is until they all started picking on the runt, they plucked her head and neck bald and were starting to tear holes in her head, so we put her on our porch to heal. All of them seem to be doing well now, and we're getting tired of cleaning chicken poo off of the porch so really looking for advice on putting our rescue back in with her flock. We're not sure exactly what kind of chicken we started with, she's a small bird with five toes on each foot and a funny hairdo. Dad is a big beautiful feral rooster black and white checkered with blue green iridescent patches. A little more than half of the chicks have moms five toes and some have her head crest. I'll attach some pictures.

Hello, and welcome to BYC! So glad you joined us. :frow

The best way to integrate the runt chick is to use the see-no-touch method. Keep her separated, but so they can still see each other, for two weeks or so then see how they do together.

The mom is a Silkie mix. :)
