I am curious to your breed selection. Not the best for cold snowy conditions.

I don't have Silkies. (Barred rocks, Leghorns, EE, Cochins, and RIR's make up my flock.)

We just wanted some fun hens and these seemed like a good place to start. We will likely add on with others in the future.

We also have coyotes, racoons, skunk, etc... so we ended up building a chicken fortress - your building skills will come in handy. Silkies in particular might need a super chicken fortress.
