Hello from kitsap washington :)

Thanks for all the welcomes ^_^ very friendly here.

Maybe you need more posts, to access the information.   For instance you need 20 posts to participate in the Buy,sell, trade forum.    Some people get lucky going to lumber yards or  areas where housing is going up.  The construction workers often leave a pile of discarded stuff behind.   Chick people has used  old "pallets," in a number of creative ways and loved finding them.

Also look when new large appliances are delivered, often the big wooden boxes are put out to be disposed of. You can make a lot of things out of that.

I had regular come into my work that works at the lumber yard here and they said they'd tell me what he had tomorrow for scraps that are free or cheap. :) I'll have something sweet up in no time :)

Hey ducky, for 8 birds you don't need to large a coop, the big thing is watching out for preditors. Espically racoons. As far as an easy coop you can get a large dog house.

Hi Ducky and everyone... I'm currently raising my first chicks also in Kitsap, and was wondering how yours are doing since last posting in this thread, and also about the predators-- have you had problems with any predatory raccoons or anything?
