Hi from New Zealand,
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Brand new. Saturday just gone (Monday here today).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Two
(3) What breeds do you have?
(see pic - am not sure).
One is ex-battery, the other was a early on battery - but rehabilitated due to hip damage.
They were both used to free-ranging before I picked them up.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far, all the weeding they are doing
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading Highlander Romance (don't hate me ), following a few British cime / drama shows - latest being The Cry, A Discovery of Witches, and of course the new Doctor Who
Helping out at the local Riding for the Disabled.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Have three rats - Chips, Homie and Lara (all girls),
Chloe - girl cat, and Simba - boy cat.
Two adult children - Jusal b1996 (male), Sacha b1994 (female). My Dad (who helped put coop together) lives up in Paraparaumu on the Kapiti Coast.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Had a couple of questions. Typed in Google Search 'best chicken forums'.
But with all my searching online since January have probably been here, as name rings a bell
