I live in Ramona, CA (San Diego North County) and I am looking to give away this hen preferably to someone that likes bantams and that has a fenced-- nice size yard... She, Lucy, cannot be with other hens as she was picked on at one time. I'm giving her away due to being in a senior development (allowed one pet but too small a space).
Please let me by contacting this post or call 760-788-4950.

I'm sorry you have to rehome her, she is a doll. This is a new member introduction site, BYC has 300,000 members around the world but, only a small number out of that post or respond to posts on this particular thread. Even then most responders will live far away from you.

You would do much better if you went to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum to locate and post on your state thread .Hopefully someone near you would see her picture and post, and get in touch with you. Sometimes it is best to ask a small price - people who just want things because they are free, don't always make reputable owners.
If you liked the people you could decide to forgo a charge.

Could you put up a small newspaper ad? I am guessing she has pretty much been a pet and that would be a great point in her favor. There is a growing segment of folks with house chickens. Wish you the very best outcome for your girl.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Sorry to hear you are having to rehome her she is a lovely bird. Great advice there for you from drumstick there is also the buy sell trade section you could post an ad in once you have a post count of 20. https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade

I hope you are able to find her a loving new home. Wishing you the very best of luck :frow
