Hello from San Diego

:frow
First time chicken owner and per significant other chicken hoarder.
I have a total of 15 chickens, three turkeys, three goats, one cat, two dogs, two turtles, and two tortoises. I have one son and hubby and wanted to have our child experience a life with a small farm on our property. We enjoy riding motorcycles in the desert, being at home, and relaxing when we are not working. I am new to owning chickens and researched a lot prior to purchasing them.

6 chickens have been placed in their coop:
Australorp
Blue splash orpington
Buff silkie
Black silkie
Two golden laced wyandotte

6 chickens in brooder
Two silver laced wyandotte
buff silkie
black silkie
two white silkie
Free chick which I have not been able to identify but, looks like a lighter Rhode Island red.

3 chicks in baby brooder
Blue splash orpington
Buff orpington
Australorp

The plan is to place everyone together at one point, but am waiting for them to be the same size then through gradual introduction. We free range, and place into coop at night. My oldest birds have only been in the coop for week. I am excited on this journey, and love being able to include my son on the chores.

Welcome! I feel like I’m the CEO here of the family/ chief cook and bottle washer. You will love the hens and BYC. Great community to talk and share experiences with. :):welcome:goodpost:
