Well, its been awhile since I've written and a lot has improved since I was on. I lost my password so the site makes you restart. So, anyway my chicken coop is finished and we put our chicks out on Mother's Day of this year and they love it. It only took 2 days for them to figure out that they can go up to thier roost by themselves and come down in the morning. They are 16 weeks this past sunday and it won't be long before they start laying their eggs.
As everyone says, they all have thier own personality and my plymouth rock " Isabelle" she is the mother hen of the group, she sets the rules on what time to go to bed and what time to come down. She's kind of bossy, the shy one is Rhoda aka " Roadrunner" she runs all over but, she really shy. Then there is my favorite, Buffy...she loves to talk and talk and talk, she sounds kind of nasally. So, funny though, she's not shy at all. I have hens total. 1 RIR, 1 Barred Rock, 2 Buff Orpingtons and 1 Plymouth Rock and its amazing how entertaining they are. I just love them all.
