hello from south London

I don't think I've used a hose in the five years that I've been here (in Australia )
Now there's drought for everyone o-o Although things have been getting a lot better these past few years, we haven't had a major heatwave since 2009!

Welcome Shell from Illinois USA. I visited London several years ago, but only the in the city on business. Never got to venture out to the countryside. Luckily I was there in the month of July, so not too much rain! I wish you luck with your new chicks. Again... welcome. :)

Fierlin........ I know a hose pipe! What's that right! It rains and poors and on the first day the sun shines were in draught! Lol

Rosie"...... Thanks for welcome, London is great and we do have some nice weather, you just don't ever know when we,ll get it if at all! Lol were not country side either were a town and I have what we consider a nice sice garden but most on here would prob not! Lol I've seen pics of what looks like fields upon fields! Maybe one day I,ll move to the country but think I'd miss the shops and conveniences and choice of schools for the kiddies. Plus I'm only a short train ride from thre city which is nice for days out and seeing shows! My hubby is in construction and has a business which next year will start property development full time so maybe in couple years I have him buy a nice big bit of land and build me my dream home! You never know!:D

theere is a saying in the UK

"3 Ws you just cannot trust in Life

Work, Wife and Weather"

Work - you can loose it at any time

Wife - Can leave you at any time

Weather - Can change at anytime

LOL

I've been chatting to you on another thread and I haven't welcomed you yet. Shame on me! Welcome to BYC

guys, should i be giving my 11 week old chicks anything other than chick crumbs? they did have a bit of grass in the new run and few weeds but thats all gone now. before the run was there that bit of land was covered with weeds so im hoping some will push through as they seem to like that but prob take ages! can i give then veggies and fruit or are they too young?

They are old enough to eat all sorts now. Some of the favourites round here by me is bread, cooked rice, cooked pasta, cheese, tomatoes, left over cereal/porridge, spinach (or any other green leafy veg), apples, bananas.... You can also feed them carrot tops and watermelon.. Just don't give them salty food, citrus or avocado.
Let the fun begin!
