Hello from Spanaway Washington area

Hello all. I am new to pigeon ownership. I basically got a gift with purchase.Two white homing pigeons came with my new home. Previous residents got married and released them after the ceremony and never thought twice about them
They live in my chicken coop. They all get along well.I think they are males.They seem to be fighting some days. They never fail to return home after time out of the coop.(I know,homing pigeons ) I always worry some falcon will make a snack of them but they need to fly. I am still learning but they eat great pigeon food,have plenty of clean water,and a nice warm clean coop.One really likes to be out with my Frizzle chicken.
I think they need girl friends. Does anyone know of a breeder or rescue in the Tacoma/Spanaway area so I can get two more birds ?

You maybe stuck with those birds for life buddy. If they are anything like my homing pigeons (Belgium bred) they would have to held captive the rest of their lives to stop them from satisfying their homing instinct. Good luck!

I would gladly take them off your hands if I lived closer (Canada). Even so I could not imprison a homing pigeon for life. They sometimes do stay bonded to a foreign coop after raising 3 batches of young. Even then the odds are against you is my experience.

I just love having them around.They are great birds.I don't want to rehome them but I would like to bring two more birds to my house for them. I am afraid they are in need of mates.I just don't know where to find them girlfriends. (Assuming they are males.) Sorry for the confusion.

Good to know they may go out and find mates for them selves because I am having no luck at all finding anyone willing to sell a couple.
