Hello from Texas

About 10 years ago we moved from the big city to a plot of Texas hill country and followed in Farmer MacDonald's footsteps. We garden in raised beds and a large greenhouse, and tend to chickens, runner ducks, goats, cattle, doggies, and kitties. In my "spare time" I paint (watercolor botanical illustration).

My current flock is aging, so just picked up 5 new Americauna chicks a couple of days ago. They are toasty warm and full of energy. Would like to keep 6 layers of various breeds at all times.

Am so looking forward to reading about your chicken adventures, great ideas, and health issues/solutions. Thanks in advance for sharing your information and teaching new tricks!

Welcome. It's great to have you. I'm one of your neighbors in Oklahoma. I have raised chickens and other poultry for many years. They say "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." Well don't believe it. I've learned many things about poultry from the knowledgeable members of BYC. Just grab a thread on the forum site and ask your question. If you can't find related thread create your own. Many good people here to help you
