Hello everyone! I thought I would take a minute to introduce myself as I am a new member. My name is Chris Sluder im from Western North Carolina and have been raising chickens for just over a year. I have only a few breeds but would like to expand and improve my stock. I currently have black australorp, partridge red rock and silver laced wyandottes as standard laying hens. I recently became interested in bantams and currently have black d'anvers and mille fleur d'uccles. I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening!

    - Chris

Welcome to BYC, Chris! Glad you decided to join our flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Sounds like you have some lovely breeds! Got to love those Australorps. I keep a flock of them and I think they are just the best.
