The family and I are totally new to chickens. As a matter of fact, we haven't even gotten them yet! We are whittling down our choices of breeds and changing our minds daily. Lots of conflicting opinions about hatcheries and we think we'd rather go with a breeder instead of a hatchery. If anyone has suggestions within 100 miles of Central Oregon, we'd appreciate the info. Looking for chickens that are fun to watch and docile - we have a 5 year old looking to earn his allowance by helping.
