Hello Mountain neighbor - we are way up here in Glen Ayre ( 7 miles North of Bakersville).

Are you hatching chicks yourself or ordering from someone? What breed did you get?

Can't wait to hear about your chicken adventures - seeing were both in the mountains and share the same climate and conditions.

Hi there neighbor.

We are in Spruce Pine. I'm going to get pullets from a breeder off the mountain as soon as it stops snowing and we can set up our coop. I've had the coop since last fall but haven't been able to bring it to the farm due to snow, ice, mud, always something

which breeder are you using ? I still have no clue where to buy from.

Also, do you have pics of your coop? I still need to build one - LOL. I am getting excited about buying chicks though - can't wait. But your right this weather is something else. We still have inches on snow in our yard (we are on the North facing side so it's colder and less sun hits us).
