Evening, finally decided to join after reading post for many years. I am located in upstate NY, in the Watertown area. I have a barn yard mix of 19 chickens (8 roosters), 5 Indian Runner ducks, 6 Narragansett Turkeys, and 3 Royal Plam Turkeys. I rountinely hatch and sell chicks in the warmer months, and plan to hatch turkeys this spring.

Sooner than later I would like to downsize the male population on the farm, by about 7 rooster, 2 drakes and 2 Toms, but selling poultry in the winter months is difficult at best.

I also raised 25 broilers last year, and helped my father rasie and butcher 500 broilers annually for several years as a kid. He was using the chicken tractor inspired by Joel Salatin the late ninties.

G’Day from down under Jeffrey :frow Welcome!

Good luck rehoming your boys.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
