Hello from the south

Welcome to BYC! It's always exciting to get chicks in the mail (especially for the first time). I have ordered from Murray McMurray a number of times over the years and have been happy with their service and birds. Good luck on your new adventure.

Congrats on the soon to be new arrivals! I hope they make it safely to you. Mountain Peeps has given some great advice. Make sure to get them hydrated before they eat. Definitely stop by our learning center for lots of great tips and hints on raising your new flock.

Enjoy all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!

Question will this brooder be big enough for all 21 chicks or do I need to get another one set up? It is a 150 gallon tub.
Thank you for all the hellos and greetings I'm happy to be here.

Our chicks arrived this week. Here is picture of them in their new home and the new top for the brooder.

Grit is needed when they are eating other things beside their chick starter. So if they are only on chick starter, they do not need grit. You can start feeding small treats or goodies at 6 weeks of age. At this time you will need to add grit to their diet. :-)

Big welcome from up North! Welcome aboard.
Glad you joined and look forward to seeing you around.
