I am enjoying my chickens
just this year decided to raise some in our backyard to enjoy their wonderful personalities and eggs. I am hoping to learn, get great advice, find guidance and enjoy chicken talk plus share some giggles and laughs
I am so happy to have found a place where I can go and read read read
Oh, I am a proud mom of 2 sussex, 2 australorps, 2 ameracaunas, 2 golden comets(older hens) and 1 bantam/game bird mix and 1 barnyard chicken mix(we know her papa is a Rhode Island Red) and 1 buff orpington
Projects: converting a 12x12 shed into a coop on one side and storage on the other side with run plus they have our yard to run around in too
The chickens are separated into groups until the coop is complete, one of the golden comets is very motherly to our pullets so we let her be with them, the other golden comet is the queen so she has her own palace at the moment, the banty mix is wild so she sleeps where she is the happiest(usually on top of our motherly comet), the others are chicks so they have their brooder to sleep in
