Howdy welcome and what they said . Them chicken just bored . Make them or buy them a pecking treat . An old corn cob covered with molasses and rolled in chick starter corn meal :eek:yes corn meal very small seeds or sunflower seeds broken very small .Make several layers so it last a while . Hang it in their brooder . Also provide them with a bowl of chick grit . Change the screen to metal screen .Best of luck with your new flock .:frow

To Backyard Chickens!

Chickens do like to be busy. This time of year I like to give them leaves to work with.

We put them in an old camper for winter, so yes its window screen, and its only one window they seem to find incredibly tasty.. We are working on fixing the issue. I haven't seen any reason for them to eat it other than ... Extra fiber, lacking nutrients, metallic personality, possibly think their robot chickens that think thier gonna need to be laying metal eggs or buildings or something?
We are working on the issue.. It happens..
I've never had chicken do that, and im not sure if its going do any damage or not. They seem like happy healthy birds otherwise. It doesn't seem to have fazed them.. So don't know.
