Thank you all look forward to learning and maybe helping others, right now working on an injured duckling we took in from a photographer who bought him just to make money Taking pictures for Easter he has a dislocated leg and is having a difficult time walking the other babies we took in are able to move to a temporary pen until they are big enough to meet the other ducks, poor Gimpy misses his friends but he does have a baby goose staying with him for now.

I think we get the gift from our rescues to see these guys learn to trust and in some cases love again makes it well worthwhile. And to see how a few of these guys have taken to feeding and watering the chicks , ducks and geese is something you experience over and over our poor rescue Gemma was rescued has a puppy and then adopted the adopters were supposed to keep our vet appointment to spay her and did not do that, they brought her and her sister back saying they had to move and could not keep them, two weeks later both of the girls had pups and Gemma had issues with people so lots of work to get her to trust me again she will never be able to leave because she finds it hard to trust people. She is a mix breed of what we have no idea but she did take to helping with our flock like it is what she is meant to do, we tell her to watch the ducks when we open the pen and don’t let them out she sits right outside of their pen door and no one in no one out is her motto, We had a Chicken escapee when I was not here and it was just my wife outside with Gemma and Gemma was able to corner the chicken until my wife could return him to his pen. She seems to enjoy going outside and watching all the coops getting feed and will let you know if you forgot to give them grass or fresh hay. This reinforces our second chance rule and that all our Rescue dogs have a purpose it is just a matter of finding what it is.
