Hello!I'm new.

I have my first hatch. They have never been inside and I have now created a small run for them and mama along with there own coop.I don't see a lot of people here going o natural.Any tips?

I don't have my hens raising mine. I hatch in an incubator and then put them in a brooder. I move them outside to a grow out pen when they are fully feathered.

My best tip would be... don't let them peck your tender parts!

Seriously though, Congratulations on your new babies! Do you just mean letting the broody raise them? That's the easiest way... mama hen does all the work. It's good you separated them to let the chicks bond with mama and learn the ropes. Then after a week or so they all can start mingling with the rest of the flock... mama hen will protect them. Just keep an eye out because all broodies are different, some are excellent mothers while some abandon their chicks and just return to the flock. (If she's not a good mom, keeping her with her chicks and separated from everyone else won't change her mind)

So by letting mom/chicks mingle with everyone else sooner, it lets the babies become integrated flock members much easier than keeping them separated until chicks are fully feathered or grown. If you free range and leave the broody coop and main coop accessible, usually mama will decide where she wants the babies to go at night and before long she'll have them roosting in the main coop with everyone else. If you have a rooster, you probably already have an All Flock feed so that's not an issue for the chicks. But it's up to you how you want your flock to be.
