(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Semi-new — still pretty fresh. Got 6 baby chicks in March of 2021, then I purchased (3) 1 year old chickens from someone looking to reduce her flock in August & then shortly added one of my “wish-list birds”, a 6 month old Polish.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Sitting comfortably with 10, but I’d love to sneak a few more lol
(3) What breeds do you have?
Lohmann brown, Isa Brown, Polish, Wyandotte, Jersey Giant, New Hampshire & Australorp.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the relationship I’ve built with mine. They love to be held, pet & played with. They follow me around everywhere I go, and when I sit in my yard they sit with me. It’s almost like they make me feel like a Queen
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy house plants, kayaking & riding ATVs.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Aside from 10 chickens, I have 2 dogs (1 of which also sits with the chickens and the chickens sit with her

I found BYC through a conversation with someone on Reddit, telling me to submit my photo of my Wyandotte to BYC!
