Hello! New to the site and have a question about a limping hen

Actually, mine have all been vaccinated for Marek's, and I'm pretty sure it's an injury. However, a friend of mine had a hen come down with Marek's, and she read somewhere that liquid echinacea worked. She tried it and it did! So maybe you could do a little research online about that, hopefully it will work for you.

Thanks for the tip re Echinacea. I would imagine it will help by supporting the immune system which is compromised with Marek's. Having cared for several with it now I'm a little sceptical of anyone saying that something works, especially if they have only treated one bird, as I've done nothing with some cases and they have got quite miraculously better on their own, so it's very difficult to figure out what, if anything, does actually work. That's not to say that we shouldn't try such treatments though especially with natural remedies.

Good to hear that your hens are vaccinated although from what I have read, that is not a guarantee that they will not get it, but just reduces the risks. However I very much hope it is an injury and she makes a full recovery soon.
