Hello everyone,
I've lurked here for a few years now, but had a sick chicken question, so decided to make an account here for the first time.
I live in Wisconsin, and the village that I live in allows a max of 6 chickens, and of course no roosters. I started my flock with 3 Buff Orpingtons and 3 Black Australorps, but due to various events, I currently have three birds. I started raising chickens primarily because I just like birds. I don't even care much for the eggs, so I give most of the eggs away. I have a 14 yo daughter who loves having the chickens in our back yard!
I built my own coop and run. I'll post pictures of that in the future, though I didn't document the entire process as well as I could have.
My birds are going on three years old, and I plan to add more of the same breeds to my flock this year. Thanks to everyone for making this such a good place to learn and share!
