We have been ripped off with with the home that we purchased about 2 years ago. Finally got a title and it was not for the one that we purchased. The title is a New Title, not the original one.So we have no place to live. Please remember us in your Prayers. We are so upset and don`t know where to go and turn.Have no money at all.And don`t even know if we will get our money back,God Bless you All

I do not even know where to begin. I am so sorry this has happened to you. I live in Ireland so I am not familiar with real estate laws, but hopefully someone here will be able to suggest something that might help. Do you have access to free legal advice, here we have free clinics that would help us.

The only thing I can do is say a prayer for you, its been my experience that prayer goes where people can't. I know not everyone believes, and I certainly don't want to offend you at this difficult time so I hope you take it in the spirit it is meant.

Have the original owners evicted you from the house you are in? (The one that you thought was yours?) If you have a title, have you tried locating that property?

This is horrible, but there are so many scams going on that you never really know.

You and your family are in my prayers.

OMG, don't leave until your evicted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been 2 years and where has the mortgage payments gone? The title company should have caught this at time of purchase. Did you use an agent?

I am kinda confused........ who's house is it? Was it stolen or something? Or were the sellers not the owners?

I obviously don't know the details, but it sounds like you were scammed. Contact your local district attorney's office as well as the state's real estate licensing board and perhaps banking board. Those who perpetrated this crime need to be brought to justice. I also hope that you are able to get things worked out favourably for yourselves.

Oh my Gosh, I am soo soo sorry this has happened to you. Did you buy it from an individual or a bank? Maybe there's a lawsuit in it. Meanwhile, since I am no where near you, have you inquired with the churches, a homless shelter, family and friends? This homeless thing is all too common these days. We would be right with them if it wasn't for my boyfriends brother n law. He let us stay in this trailer he has on his property. My BF had to get it livable due to a previous tennant. He trashed the place and all the electric and plumbing had to be replaced which was done very slowly because we had to use my unemployment checks to buy the supplies as that was the deal. We stay here rent free for as long as we want but had to replace all that stuff and what ever comes up in the future. It's cold in here but we have 2 heaters that keep the pipes from freezing at least.

Maybe there is something similar you can find. I do hope something comes up. It's too cold to be out on the streets. We thought we where going to have to live in a tent. We had 4 dogs and about 50 chickens when we got evicted from our other place. We thank his brother n law every chance we get for the place to stay.

Did you have a title company involved when you bought it? If so, that's what they do, make sure it's the right property. If they messed it up, their insurance will have to pay you to make it right. A relative of mine bought a foreclosure and they told her everything was fine and years later she got letters in the mail that it was being sold for back taxes. They had messed up and researched the wrong house and they had to pay every penny and lawyer fee to correct the situation. Good luck!

Could someone explain to me the difference between a New Title and the one the OP was supposed to get?

Get a lawyer, pronto and sue the heck out of the people.
