I'm excited to meet y'all. I got my first ever chicks for Mother's Day. My three girls started laying on Halloween. I have them in an "urban type" coop. I have it on a raised platform because we have had a lot of rain still since Harvey. I live right just SW of Houston.
I am trying to navigate the forums and have several questions. I'm always looking for the best way to care for my girls.
Thank you for adding me.

Welcome from a fellow Texan. So happy you have finally joined us and a definate belatedly late congratulations on your first eggs!

Please be sure to read up on the articles section and under that the coop design section as you are in opossum/skunk/raccoon territory and would break my heart to hear of any losses you might incur. I am basing that statement off the chicken wire I see in your profile picture, chicken wire is great for chickens just not good for keeping predators out.

There is a Texas thread that is pretty active as well that would love to welcome you to our community of chicken nutters should you have any region specific questions.

WELCOME to BYC!
