Welcome to BYC -and to the adventure of chicken/duck keeping!
Buff orpingtons are such lovely birds - you have chosen wisely in beginning your flock with them. We had a rouen (male) for a few years - he wasn't all that friendly, we got him as a grown bird and came from a situation where he was not socialized to humans, but he was sure pretty to look at.

we used to have mallard ducks that came by for a week or so during a couple summers- the female used to walk on our outdoor sill for the picture window. She'd spend a lot of time just looking in. They'd come to the side door and expect food and water. After the second summer - ducks were back but this time they were much bigger, I thought the female must be pregnant (this was before I learned things on BYC). She walked on the window sill and looked in just like the former mallard. But I was told she was a rouen - hybrid mallard
Sorry got carried away by the memory. We had just moved from a major city to a small suburb and wildlife was fascinating to us.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens- buff orps are beautiful birds - how are the chicks and ducklings doing together? I noticed how much bigger the ducklings are which triggered the memory of the rouens. Love the duck coming out of box.
