^^ Chinese Painted Quail is the real name for Button Quails. The true button quail is nothing like the birds we raise that we here in the US call Button Quails. True Button Quails are a type of crane I think it is...some sort of water bird atleast. They also from what I've read are slightly bigger than our birds we call button quail.
their true name is Chinese Painted Quail. Somewhere along the line people started calling CPQ's button quails and it stuck...but they are not true button quails, not even related to true button quails.
