Hi Guys,

Done a lot of reading on these forums before getting our chickens, and now they're in, thought it made sense to register and join in!

Spent a few months making an aviary in the garden (proper custom job, first bit of DIY I'm actually proud of ) and introduced 4 birds, an Oxford Blue (Pigeon), Oxford Brown (Nugget), Black Sussex (Penny) and a Light Sussex (Dr. Feathers).

We were going to add a couple of Bantams, but with the territorial nature of the Oxford Blue decided not to risk the bullying of the little guys. After letting them settle, we topped up yesterday with two additional birds, an Oxford Emerald (Esme) and a Nera (Smaug). Not been an easy intro so far, but reading up about it, that seems expected.

Anyway, boring intro done, looking forward to getting involved in this community

Sounds like an awesome looking flock.
They will get their pecking order in line and such... in the meantime all you need to do are the chores.... ;) have lots of fun. There is a lot of comedy in chickens.... like government. ...

They are great fun to watch, they really do have personalities like everyone says, this bring lots of stupid moments

Chores... the poop is never ending!

Yes.... poop..... the poop. But if you do what I do you will have an awesome green lawn, chemical free and no cost. Poop is a pain unless you make it a pleasure.....
Research chicken poop tea. But keep it basic.. people tend to overdo everything from time to time. ...
