Santa Cruz Mountains
Hello fellow chicken enthusiasts! We just started keeping chickens this past spring. We have 11 in our flock of which 7 are now laying! We reside in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California and would love to keep bees as well. Not sure how they do coexisting but we're excited to find out. We have a pretty diverse flock that includes a Barred Rock, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Brown Leghorn, Cream Legbar, Black Copper Marans, Svart Hona, Olive Egger, Easter Egger, and recently added a Buckeye, Blue Laced Wyandotte, and an Blue Ameracauna. Still wanting a Salmon Faverolle, Croad Langshan, and Blue Whiting. Loving it so far but still learning.

We have honey bees and chickens.
The chickens leave the bees alone. The bees mostly leave the chickens alone but have shown a major interest in the waterers. Adding a bit of ACV to the water seems to keep the chickens happy and deter the bees. (They require a lot of water during the hot months and have other sources but are opportunits.)
