Hi there everyone and Merry Christmas to all those celebrating Christmas day.
I live in Brisbane in Australia.
I currently have 5 chickens and love them all with their quirky little personalities. I am new to the world of chicken care, I thought it would be an easy job. Just leave them to wander around the backyard, every now and then lock them in their coop, feed them and collect their eggs. Well i have just been proved wrong. One quirky little girl thinks she is one of the dogs and is constantly coming inside and sleeping on the lounge.. Naughty girl! Anyway, recently dogs and humans have been driven mad with scratching. I have found out that chickens get mites and lice..... the hard way... I did not know that u needed to dust them.. My other 4 chickens who like to hang out on their own had them as well.. My quirky little Jackie was found quite ill yesterday and I am going to post about her in the discussion forum. She is the reason I have found this site and seeking help and support.
I hope to be able to chat to some of you soon.
